My Product

 This project gave me the opportunity to reflect on both my personal interests and my future role as an educator. By centering my project around cooking—specifically pizza—I learned that my strongest ideas come from connecting real-world experiences to learning. I realized that I am most motivated and creative when I can bring something familiar and hands-on into an educational context.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this project was the creative freedom. Designing lessons and activities around cooking made learning feel natural and engaging rather than forced. Pizza became more than just food; it became a way to explain concepts such as collaboration, sequencing, problem-solving, and creativity. I also enjoyed using digital tools like Padlet and Google Slides to present my ideas in a visual and interactive way.

However, these challenges helped me recognize areas where I need more practice and patience, especially since technology will be a major part of my future classroom.
If I were to change anything about this project, I would start earlier and plan my digital workflow more carefully. Breaking the work into smaller steps and spending more time experimenting with the tools before final submission would have reduced stress and improved my confidence. I would also seek feedback earlier in the process to make improvements along the way.
From here, I plan to continue developing lesson ideas that combine cooking with curriculum expectations. This project showed me that learning does not have to be traditional to be meaningful. Moving forward, I want to build more engaging, hands-on learning experiences that motivate students and make education feel relevant and enjoyable.
Overall, this project helped me grow both creatively and professionally. It reinforced my belief that passion plays a key role in effective teaching and that when students are engaged, learning becomes more impactful.role as an educator. Genius Hour Blog Post #3 This week during Genius Hour, I continued working on my project about using cooking as a way to make learning more engaging for students. I focused on turning my ideas into something concrete by beginning to plan what my final product could look like, such as a simple culinary-based learning activity or lesson.
